Chesterfield Cycle Campaign promotes cycle use in Chesterfield for both leisure and utility journeys.
By campaigning for a comprehensive network, we aim to improve conditions for cyclists so that cycling becomes a safer and more attractive option than car travel for local journeys.
August – A large mural has been painted on the Queen’s Park bridge support. It depicts the face of ‘Lalla’ the little girl whose statue is in the park. The photo is taken from the Queen’s Park bike track.
The next photo is of the new bike track through the Donkin site on the old branch line alignment. The track is not yet open.
The Autumn newsletter is a little late due to holidays and last minute changes. It is at the printers and will be distributed to the delivery reps by the end of the week (posted on 26th August)
This week BBC1 is showing a series of programmes about Mark Beaumont who set off from Paris to cycle around the world in 200 days. Shown on Monday to Thursday after the 10’o’clock evening news. Available on BBC iPlayer if you miss it! (Posted Monday 18th August)
The Campaign was contacted at short notice and asked to attend this event in the Queen’s Park, held today, we signed up some new members and gave out cycling information.
