Several members of our Campaign volunteer at the monthly Dr Bike workshop which is hosted by Inclusive Pedals at their storage containers in the Queen’s Park north car park (the one near the demolished sports centre, where the miniature railway crosses the car park).

The workshop is open on the 1st Saturday of the month March to October inclusive between 9.30am and 1.00pm.

The only charges made for repairs are for any new parts used, all labour and advice is free. Checks and adjustments are easily carried out and most of the repairs are to brakes (cables and blocks) and adjusting gears. One of our volunteers runs a local cycle repair business (Brampton Cyclery) so any bigger repairs may be referred to him.

We carry stocks of commonly used spares but will happily fit new parts that you bring along too.

We usually have in stock:

  • Brake and gear cables (inner and outer)
  • Brake blocks (not disc pads, too many varieties!)
  • V brake arms
  • Brake levers
  • Inner tubes (12″, 16″, 20″, 24″, 26″, 700)
  • Grips (fairly basic)
  • Pedals (fairly basic plastic)
  • Chains (1, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 speed)

We’ll true a wheel so that it doesn’t ‘bind’ on the brakes. Sometimes we have second hand parts such as mudguards, saddles etc.

Cash donations are always welcome so that we can expand our range of tools and spares. We also accept bike donations, if they are in reasonable rideable condition we will advertise them on the Dr Bike Facebook page for the next workshop and just ask for a donation. If they need more work we give them to the Monkey Park bike workshop.
