Chesterfield Cycle Campaign promotes cycle use in Chesterfield for both leisure and utility journeys.  By campaigning for a comprehensive network, we aim to improve conditions for cyclists so that cycling becomes a safer and more attractive option than car travel for local journeys.

Campaign May Meeting

Our May monthly meeting will be on Tuesday 12th May at 7.30pm. Our new venue is Chesterfield Community Centre off South Place.

Cycle in Style Ride

We had 29 riders on our Cycle in Style ride today who enjoyed the traffic free Stonegravels Way and once at the Riverside Garden Centre we heard from Rupert Carr about the Peak Resort development and its wider impact on cycling.

Cycle in Style

Don't forget our Cycle in Style ride on Saturday May 9th. Leaving at 10.30am from outside the Visitor Information Centre in Rykneld Square. All welcome but especially if stylishly dressed, on a classic bike or both!

May Day

A successful May Day stall with some new members signed up and many conversations with local and not so local cyclists.

We had quite a few members cycling on the march too.

The Cycle Campaign will have a stall at the May Day event in New Square on Monday May 4th, we will be there from 10.00am until 3.00pm. Hopefully some members will also cycle with the march through town.

Space 4 Cycling Sheffield

Some of our members made up the almost 500 cyclists on the streets of Sheffield today for the Space 4 Cycling ride.

April Campaign Meeting

Our April meeting on Tuesday 14th April will be at our new 'home' the Chesterfield Community Centre accessed off South Place in Chesterfield. 7.30pm until 9.00pm.

'Cycle in Style' May 9th

We hope to run two 'Cycle in Style' rides this year to celebrate 20 years of the Campaign. The first will be on Saturday May 9th. Starting at 10.30am from outside the Visitor Information Centre in Rykneld Square (S40 1SB). The route will take us along the Stonegravels Way, under the Whittington Moor roundabout and along the old Sheffield Road to the Riverside Garden Centre cafe. Rupert Carr from Birchall developments who are creating the Peak Resort will come and talk to us about the development and its impact on cycling infrastructure.

Space for Cycling

Support Space for Cycling by joining the local ride in Sheffield on Saturday 25th April.

The ride will be approx 6km in length and Cycle Sheffield volunteer marshals will ensure the group stays together and that the pace is suitable for even the youngest of riders.

Queen's Park Bridge

Notices have been posted on the Queen's Park bridge to say work will start on March 16th to raise/replace the railings which should finally allow cycling over the bridge. Please note the bridge will be closed whilst the work is completed.
