Here we aim to gather together a range of resources to help make your cycling safer, easier and more enjoyable - whether cycling around Chesterfield or further afield.

If there is any useful information that you would like to see included in this section, please contact the Secretary with your suggestions.

Cycle Training

For children;

The National Standard cycle training branded 'Bikeability' is available in many local schools funded by central government using professional instructors. Details can be found here.

Derbyshire County Council provides its own cycle training (called Smart Rider) at some schools in Chesterfield using volunteer trainers.

For adults;

Derbyshire County Council funds up to 8 hours of cycle training for any adult living, working or studying in Derbyshire. Local cycle instructors give 1:1 lessons. Register your interest or get more details here.

Cycle Parking: There are currently two locker sites, and dozens of cycle stands situated around Chesterfield. A map of locations is available here.

Cycle lockers are situated at the coach station and at the St Mary's Gate end of Vicar Lane. Keys are available from the Tourist Information Centre. Download a copy of Chesterfield Borough Councils information leaflet here.
