Chesterfield Cycle Campaign promotes cycle use in Chesterfield for both leisure and utility journeys.  By campaigning for a comprehensive network, we aim to improve conditions for cyclists so that cycling becomes a safer and more attractive option than car travel for local journeys.

There is a public exhibition today (22nd May) and tomorrow 23rd May in Chesterfield Library 2.00pm until 6.00pm about a proposed new road linking Hollis Lane and Brewery Street via the railway station. If built this may well affect the station link cycle path so if you are able to get along and leave comments please do.

Latest Greenways update

Following the Derbyshire County Council cycle liaison meeting yesterday here is the latest 'greeways' update.

Route to Queen's Park Sports Centre

The problems with the gate allowing access to the new cycle route through the Queen's Park seem to have been resolved, it is now open on a daily basis.

However we now have problems with sports centre users parking on the shared path giving access to the cycle parking. We met with the sports centre manager today who has a plan for bollards to keep the route clear.

Campaign Meeting

Our next meeting is on 9th April at 7.30pm in the Chesterfield Community Centre, all welcome. We will be discussing several planning applications that are current.

Public Bike Pump

Our new public bike pump has been installed at the Hollingwood Hub on the Trans Pennine Trail.

After we delivered it the Canal Trust kindly installed it.

It is enclosed by the shutters when the cafe is closed to prevent vandalism.
